Carson-Newman beach volleyball looks to build on its 11-0 start this weekend as the Eagles host a two-day meet featuring Regent, Lynchburg, and Liberty.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman beach volleyball returns to action this weekend for a two-day meet, hosting four matches as the Eagles look to build on their undefeated start to the 2026 season.
Carson-Newman enters the weekend with an 11-0 record after a dominant showing in its first South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas weekend in Greenville, Tenn. The Eagles went a perfect 4-0, sweeping Catawba, Wingate, and Emmanuel (Ga.) while closing the weekend with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Erskine.
The strong performance continued Carson-Newman's early-season momentum, with the Eagles winning three of their four matches by 5-0 sweeps. The team's consistency across the lineup helped extend its undefeated start while showcasing depth throughout all five flights.
"We're really going to focus on the things that we saw last weekend," said head coach Cat Collins. "We going to a little better and clean things up on the defensive side and adapt what we need to in the games."
Leading the charge last weekend was the No. 3 pair of Addie Smith and Camryn Ehlers, who went a perfect 4-0 while winning all of their matches in straight sets. Their performance helped earn the duo South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas Pair of the Week honors for the second time this season.
Carson-Newman now turns its focus to another busy weekend on the sand with four matches scheduled across two days.
The Eagles open the meet on Friday, March 13, facing Regent University at 1 p.m. before taking on Lynchburg at 3 p.m..
Action continues on Saturday, as Carson-Newman faces Lynchburg again at 1 p.m. before closing the weekend against Liberty at 5 p.m.
"This team is such a joy to coach," said Collins. "To have athletes that trust you so much makes your job a lot easier. They do a great job of believing in the process and trusting what we're doing."
With the Eagles continuing to build momentum early in the season, the weekend presents another opportunity for Carson-Newman to maintain its unbeaten record while preparing for the heart of its conference schedule.
