ROCK HILL, S.C. – For the second time in three weeks, Carson-Newman senior guard Jennifer Sullivan has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
This is Sullivan's third career weekly honor from the SAC, two of which have come this season.
Sullivan was exceptional in helping C-N collect a pair of 27-point wins this week. For the week, the Knoxville native averaged 26 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. Impressively, Sullivan made 66.7 percent of her shots and 56 percent of her three-pointers. In total, she was 20-30 from the field and nine for 16 from long range.
She began the week by resetting her career-high with 33 points in a 107-80 victory over Tusculum. It's her third 30-point game of the season, the most by a Lady Eagle since Braelyn Wykle during the 2023-24 season. In 29 minutes on Wednesday, the senior guard drilled 12 of her 17 shots including six of her 10 three-pointers. She made just one of her first four shots and had just three points in the first frame. From the second quarter on, Sullivan would go on to make 11 of her final 13 shots, highlighted by a 15-point second quarter.
Sullivan led C-N in scoring for the 14th time and third straight game by pouring in 19 points in 28 minutes in Friday's win over #14 Coker. She was eight of 13 from the field and made three of her six three-pointers. Nine of her 19 points came in a third quarter where C-N outscored the Cobras by 19.
This season, Sullivan ranks fourth in DII with 59 three-pointers and 16th with a 40.1 percentage from long range.
In just 51 career games with C-N, Sullivan has put her three-point shooting on full display. Her 120 three-pointers are 12th-most in program history, just 10 away from moving into the top ten. To reach that mark, she has done so on superb efficiency. Sullivan's 41.8 career three-point percentage is second-best all-time in program history.
Sullivan and the Lady Eagles are on the road for their next three games, starting on Wednesday at UVA Wise. Tip off with the Highland Cavaliers is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Coverage on the Eagle Sports Network begins at 5:15 with the AEC Countdown to Tipoff on Mix 105.5 (WSEV-FM, Sevierville) and online at cneagles.com/live.
