Corcoran Earns All-American Honors in 200 Butterfly
Megan Corcoran put on a strong showing Friday at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships, finishing fifth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:59.68.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Sophomore Megan Corcoran added another strong performance to her national meet résumé, finishing fifth in the 200-yard butterfly for the Carson-Newman Eagles at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships at the Southern Indiana Aquatics Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Corcoran touched the wall in 1:59.68 during the championship final to secure All-American honors and score 14 points for Carson-Newman.
The sophomore opened the race with a 27.08 split in the first 50 yards and turned at 57.44 through the first 100 before closing strong over the final half of the race to finish among the top swimmers in the nation.
The performance adds another All-American finish to Corcoran's impressive week at the national championships, where she has consistently scored valuable points for the Eagles.
Carson-Newman continues competition at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships as the meet progresses in Evansville.
