For head coach Kieran Showler-Davis, his group has improved as the year has gone on, with most carrying momentum from the indoor season. The Eagles are coming off a weekend at the UT Invite, where Rylan Jordan built on his stellar sophomore season, earning SAC Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, and Amine Kasmi made his outdoor debut after an All-American indoor season.
On the opening day of the Tennessee Invite, Jordan took second in the 200m. The sophomore set a personal record of 20.83 seconds, which is the tenth-fastest in Division II. Then on Saturday, he recorded the top mark in the 100m with a time of 10.30 seconds. This season, he holds the fourth fastest time in Division II in the 100m at 10.17 seconds.
Jordan's stellar weekend in Knoxville was capped off in the 4x100m relay. Alongside Kasmi, Taylor Madison and Favour Ekpekpe, the quartet of Eagles came in second at 39.63 seconds, the fastest time at the Division II level this season.
This is Jordan's fourth SAC honor of the year, his second during the outdoor season, he received the distinction twice during the indoor campaign.
Meanwhile, Kasmi made his outdoor season debut at 20.89 seconds in the 200m, placing third.
On the field side, the high-flying Blayne Jackson continues to build off his All-Region indoor season, coming in fourth with a PB of 2.02m in the high jump. Senior Brooke Taylor snagged a top 10 and top 15 finish in Knoxville last weekend in the long jump and triple jump.
Pole vaulter Cadence Dolgin kept his strong freshman season going, taking first place at UT. He claimed the top spot, clearing 4.76m. On the women's side, Katie Edmunds came in sixth in the pole vault. The freshman had a personal best at 3.52m.
