Jordan clinches spot in his third final at Division II Outdoor National Championships
EMPORIA, Kan. – After locking up a spot in two of Saturday's finals, sophomore Rylan Jordan clinched his spot in the 200-meter final tomorrow afternoon on the second day of the Division II Outdoor National Championships.

Despite running the second-slowest time among the qualifiers, Jordan was second-fastest in his heat, securing his spot in his third final, 21.05 seconds. Meanwhile, Amine Kasmi finished third in his heat at 20.88 seconds but was bumped from the top eight due to the automatic qualifiers.
Yesterday evening featured a fast start as the Eagles 4x100m relay team of Taylor Madison, Favour Ekpekpe, Amine Kasmi and Rylan Jordan set the pace with time of 39.50 seconds. It won their heat earning an automatic qualifier, and it was the fastest time of the preliminary rounds by .25 seconds.
Jordan and Kasmi carried their momentum into the 100m preliminary rounds.
The sophomore, Jordan won his heat and set the fastest mark with a time of 10.31 seconds to earn his spot on Saturday. Kasmi had to hold his breath for moment, just missing the AQ by .02 seconds during his heat, but ran the seventh-quickest time to reach the finals.
"Great day for the guys punching their ticket to the finals in the 4x100m and 100m," head coach Kieran Showler-Davis said. "They really executed well and done what was needed on prelims day by making it through to Saturdays finals."
The Division II Outdoor National Championships are taking place at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas. Fans can watch the events streamed live on NCAA.com. The 4x100m finals are set for 4:30 p.m., the 100m at 5:55 p.m. and the 200m at 7:10 p.m.
