Jordan, Kasmi and the 4x100m relay team advance to Saturday’s Finals on first day of National Championships

Thursday evening featured a fast start as the Eagles 4x100m relay team of Taylor Madison, Favour Ekpekpe, Amine Kasmi and Rylan Jordan set the pace with time of 39.50 seconds. It won their heat earning an automatic qualifier, and it was the fastest time of the preliminary rounds by .25 seconds.

Jordan and Kasmi carried their momentum into the 100m preliminary rounds.
The sophomore, Jordan won his heat and set the fastest mark with a time of 10.31 seconds to earn his spot on Saturday. Kasmi had to hold his breath for moment, just missing the AQ by .02 seconds during his heat, but ran the seventh-quickest time to reach the finals.

The 4x100m finals are set for 4:30 p.m., with the 100m scheduled for 5:55 p.m.
Lovelyne Larrame was also in action in the 400m but did not qualify for the finals on Saturday, running a 55.37-second time.
Both Jordan and Kasmi will be in action tomorrow in the 200m preliminaries at 6:30 p.m.
