Griffin lines up two camps this Fall
Carson-Newman head baseball coach Tom Griffin has announced two fall camps over a multi-week window next month.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman head baseball coach Tom Griffin has announced two fall camps over a multi-week window next month.
The fall camp schedule begins with the Catch, Block, Throw Catching Camp on October 18th and 19th. The camp will last from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for 7th-12th graders with a price of 250 dollars.
The second and final camp is a Prospect Camp scheduled for November 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with check-in at 8:15 a.m. Grades 10-12 are welcome to attend the camp, with a price of 125 dollars.
Coach Griffin has more than 25 years of coaching experience at the college level. He has been a catching instructor and speaker at various camps and clinics in the United States and Canada. Griffin is the producer of "Catch It, Block It, Throw It," an instructional catching video. Follow his Twitter account of @catchblockthrow for tips and other insights. The Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Famer has taken his catcher's knowledge to the Catcher Con. Catchers Clinic Premier in Franklin, Tennessee. It's an annual catching clinic, that he has spoke at for the past nine years.
Griffin will cover techniques in the camp including stances, calling the game, mental aspects, receiving drills, blocking drills, throwing, plays at the plate, bunts, pop-ups and wild pitches.
